The S16 by Galvanitas is the school chair from the 1960s. It was used in almost all schools in the Netherlands, and it provided surprisingly good seating. Due to its minimalist design and industrial look, the chair is still very popular today. The S16 by Galvanitas is undoubtedly a design classic and fits perfectly with current interior design trends.
This unique chair was designed and produced by Galvanitas in Oosterhout in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Instead of the usual tubular construction, the designer chose a frame made of pressed sheet steel, resulting in a revolutionary and sturdy design. The chair was specifically designed for heavy use in public spaces such as schools, institutions, and canteens.
