Bovenkamp was a Dutch furniture manufacturer that became famous for its high-quality designer furniture, especially in the 1960s and 1970s. The furniture factory has played an important role in promoting Dutch design and has contributed to the worldwide appreciation for Scandinavian-inspired furniture design.

Designer duo

In the 1960s, the furniture factory of Jacobus van den Bovenkamp collaborated with the Danish designer duo Arnold Madsen and Henry Schubell. The duo mainly designs elegantly shaped chairs and tables made from natural materials.
Their designed range of Danish furniture is very successful, and they are still much sought after vintage items. Pay particular attention to the armrests that extend beautifully into the backrest.
