With these 7 tips you can keep your wooden table beautiful for as long as possible
You’ve recently become the proud owner of a Sav & Økse table, and of course, you want to keep it looking great for as long as possible. When maintaining a wooden table, it’s important to first know which finish your table has: oiled, lacquered or a Fenix top. Read this blog for more information about the different types of finishes.
Since it’s not always clear what you should or shouldn’t do when it comes to maintenance, we’re happy to help you get started. With these 7 tips, you’ll keep your Sav & Økse table in great shape:
1. Each table is pre-treated in the factory with either oil or lacquer, which means it’s ready for immediate use. However, the protective layer only reaches its full strength after 20 days. So be extra careful during the first three weeks.
2. Protect the surface from heat, moisture, and food or drink stains by using coasters, placemats or a tablecloth.
3. For daily cleaning, use a clean dishcloth dampened with lukewarm water and thoroughly wrung out.
4. Avoid using abrasive materials, rough sponges or cleaning machines. Aggressive cleaners are also not suitable for stain removal.
5. For deep cleaning of lacquered tables, use WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner. Afterward, apply WOCA Master Care for extra protection and to reduce the visibility of small scratches.
6. For oiled tables, use WOCA Natural Soap for thorough cleaning. It removes dirt while also adding a protective wear layer.
7. Tables with a Fenix top have self-healing properties – small scratches can easily be removed with a magic sponge.
