Gijs van der Sluis was a Dutch architect and furniture designer. Known for its sleek steel furniture. In 1946 he started the company 'Van der Sluis Stalen Meubelen'. Van der Sluis produced a very contemporary range of chairs and tables here. He was so successful in this that VDS in Culemborg has now grown into a modern company with a production location of 20,000 m2 where 80 professionals work every day.
